The Addition of Terreplenish® provides between 45-60 lbs. nitrogen credit depending on soil type. Study Director: Dr. K. Bruce Kirksey of Agricenter International evaluated Terreplenish®, an all natural nitrogen fixing bacteria made by Feed Earth Now, LLC.
In a recent study performed by Agricenter International’s Director of Research, Dr. K. Bruce Kirksey, the replicated cropping trial verified that theaddition Terreplenish® provides approximately 45-60 lbs. nitrogen credit and freeing more than 15 lbs. of phosphate per acre (Kirksey, 2021).
With such significant findings, when taking into account average yield volumes of 250 corn bushels per acre with conventional methods of added nitrogen and phosphate-based fertilizers, the average grower may decrease their fertilizer cost by nearly 14% if they utilize the Terreplenish® microbe formula (see Figure 01). This provides an added value of cost savings of $42.50 per acre of harvest.
In the study evaluating the effectiveness of Terreplenish®, solutions in the land verified that the silt loam soil chosen for the Terreplenish® Corn Trial 2021 had an excellent fertility level. The selected acreage was pre-trial assessed at 1.7% OM, CEC 7, pH 6.1.
The acreage was divided into six segregated plots for various planting methods. DeKalb 68-69 corn seed was planted across the plots using the following soil preparation methods:
NPK RESULTS

PLOT 3 – Preplant 150 lbs.
40-60-60, 180 lbs. UAN 32+1 gal.
TP–7 days ahead of planting and 1 gal.
TP – 29 days after planting.
PLOT 4 – Preplant 150 lbs.
40-60-60, 140 lbs. UAN 32+2 gal.
TP–7 days ahead of planting.
PLOT 5 – Preplant 150 lbs.
40-60-60, 180 lbs. UAN 32+2 gal.
TP–7 days ahead of planting.
PLOT 6 – Preplant 150 lbs.
40-45-60, 180 lbs. UAN 32+2 gal.
TP–7 days ahead of planting.
Conclusions: Clearly the addition of Terreplenish® provides between 45-60 lbs nitrogen credit. In this corn hybrid, split application of Terreplenish® did not pay. Plot 6 has 15 lbs of reduced phosphorous indicating that the PSB’s (phosphorous solubilizing bacteria) in Terreplenish® effectively free more than 15 lbs of P2O5. See case study for more information.
At $42 per acre savings , an average farmer with 2000 acres could add $84,000 to their bottom line.
Terreplenish® is a propriety blend of live active microbes which convert nitrogen into bio-available nitrates for uptake by the plant crop. This reduces the amount of fertilizer while adding regenerative processes to the soil before during and after the growing season.
